Happy Sunday!
This week has been huge for me and I'd like to share it with you. On Tuesday, I had my TV debut. I did a segment on bridesmaid colors for a wedding special on Good Day PA. It was live television! Full transparency, I was
absolutely terrified. My theme this year is to "get out there". Talk to people in person. Share my expertise on TV for more exposure. Do live videos on FB and Instagram.
All of these things are out of my comfort zone. All kinds of reasons come up as to why I don't need to do these things. I'm not ready. I'm not good enough. Who's going to want to hear what I have to say? Color isn't important enough for TV. Why would anyone want to book me to speak? I'm scared. I don't need to do this now. It's not the right time. Maybe when the kids are older. These are all stories I've been telling myself.
Has there been something in your life that you've really wanted, but decided not to... for some reason?
The reality is, in order for my business to grow, and in order to personally grow, it's time do some things differently. If you do the same things you end up with the same results. If you want something to change in your life, something must change with you.
I delivered my signature talk on Friday to a group of women entrepreneurs. The talk is called "How To Express Your True Self With 3 Signature Colors." You helped me name it! I shared my story. I was vulnerable. I was authentic. It felt right. I absolutely loved speaking and sharing my story. Hopefully inspiring my audience. I would not have known that I loved public speaking if I hadn't done it.
For both of these events, I got booked BEFORE I had any material prepared. It was my way of committing myself to what I said I was going to do this year. Once you've made a commitment, you have no choice but to make it happen. And I did. I was nervous and scared. And I did it anyway despite the fear. I created a video about this on my personal
instagram, if you want to see it.
I'll be on Good Morning Washington and Virginia This Morning in March talking about the trending colors for Spring and Summer. I am going on a streak of public speaking and TV segments. It's crazy and exciting and fun. Wish me luck!
By the way, I'm not sharing all this with you to impress you. I'm hoping to inspire you to do something different in your life to create the change you desire. It doesn't have to be as monumental as live TV. It could be something as simple as getting up an hour earlier each morning to give yourself the time to do something you want to do.
HOW you wear a signature set of colors that LOVE you
as much as you love them.
A few years ago, I found myself divorced, grieving over losing my oldest daughter and truly lost. I had forgotten what it was like to have true joy in my life. Did I ever really know? I didn't know who I was or what truly made me happy.
As I went through the process of learning about myself, I founded Your Color Style. Identifying the colors that make you feel amazing is a simple step you can take to build your confidence. Color transformed my life. It is now my mission to help you get through whatever transition is going on in your life through color.
