I shopped this weekend and picked up a really fun yellow skirt from Banana Republic. It was on sale.
My first thought was... is this really ME? Can I wear a yellow skirt?
Then, I asked the sales associate to tell me what she recommends to wear with it. She handed me this bright turquoise silk blouse.
Now... the color combination WAS striking... but I have low contrast coloring... and this high contrast outfit just didn't harmonize with my skin tone.
But, if you have a warm undertone AND you have medium to high contrast coloring (light skin with dark hair and dark eyes)... then this would look amazing on you.

How did I wear the skirt?
I went a little less bold. I paired the skirt with a light warm grey sweater. I wore dark grey hose and dark brown leather boots. I pulled the outfit together with a scarf that had yellow, cream, light grey, turquoise and orange.
Oh! And I painted my nails to match the teal green in the scarf. I got a TON of complements today. When the outfit is styled... the bright yellow skirt is no longer a bright yellow skirt... but a key accent to your outfit.
If you have cool undertones... you could wear this skirt with a deep purpley blue. OOOOH! How amazing would that be! Wear black tights and black boots or pumps. Boom.
