Hey girl! How's your weekend going so far?
Yesterday was a lot of fun. It's worth telling you about it because I want to share a learning moment with you... a couple actually. You
may roll your eyes but I think you'll appreciate this.
7:00am, after I had my coffee, I head over to the garden center and buy 3 shrubs, 4 bags of mulch, 5 hostas and some bug killer. Sounds like a capsule wardrobe for the garden! I then spent 2 hours, hacking through Virginia soil (rocks and clay) to plant these plants. Why?
Because we removed these sick azaleas last fall and then got lazy... and we were THOSE people that had nothing in their front landscaping. HOA sent 2 letters. The lesson? Sheesh, I don't know but I am sooooo sore today.
After delicious lettuce wraps at Jimmy Johns we hit the mall. Joe wanted to look at grey vans. I've told you before that he's a shoe
diva, right? He buys, on average, 2 shoes a month. It's a bit obsessive. Anyway, you will be so proud of me! I was in Gap, and I found a thin, long cardi in a neutral navy and a neutral grey and cream. This is exactly the item I was looking for for my travel capsule for Italy! I was hoping for a heather beige, but these were great!
So, why are you proud of me? Because, I was going to buy both, because that's what I usually do. "Just in case". I'll have both. They're on sale! But then, I decided, no. That's not the point of reducing and building a capsule wardrobe. What will I wear this card with exactly? I realized, that I would wear this grey cardi with a black t-shirt dress. And a few tank top and shorts outfits. And even over a t-shirt with skinny jeans. I could have bought the navy one too but I had less
options that I liked. So, I bought only the grey one, adding it to my neutrals wardrobe from Signature and to my travel capsule wardrobe for the Italy cruise. *BOOM*
It is so refreshing to shop with thought and a purpose. I spent WAY less than I normally would have and... most importantly... I LOVE how the cardi makes me look and feel. LOVE this piece. I'm doin' a little happy dance!
We
ended the day at Jetty's Dock Bar in Maryland. Ate crabs and drank beer enjoying a really fun band. It was warm with an amazing breeze. Just a perfect and happy moment in time. We didn't rush. We just took our time and enjoyed the moment. There's a couple photos on my personal
FACEBOOK page if you want to see.
Have an amazing Sunday and I hope you enjoy the newsletter.
*HUGS*
